Appearances on Countdown (By Year/Company): 4 (2016, 2017, 2019, 2020)

Coming in at #24 is the Saga Solaz Churchill by De Los Reyes Cigars. The Saga Solaz was first introduced in 2019. The name Solaz in Spanish refers to comfort and pleasure after work. The Solaz is a cigar that is designed to be enjoyed after a day of work. It’s a regular production Connecticut Shade wrapped line that is also positioned as a smoother mild to medium cigar line.

In addition to the Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper, the Saga Solaz features Dominican-grown tobaccos from the Reyes family farms. These tobaccos include: Criollo, Olor, and Piloto Cubano varietals. The Churchill size measures 7 x 48. As with production for all De Los Reyes Cigars, production is handled at the De Los Reyes S.A. facility in Santiago, Dominican Republic.

Saga Solaz Churchill - Open Box

The Saga Solaz Churchill doesn’t try to reinvent Connecticut Shade cigars. It’s a mild to medium cigar in terms of strength and body. It delivers traditional flavors of toast, cream, citrus, wood, and cedar along with some black pepper.

It marks the fourth time that De Los Reyes Cigars has landed on the Countdown – and each of those occasions has been over the past five years. Last year, the Saga Short Tales Tomo VI captured the #1 Cigar of the Year. Of the seven cigars unveiled on the 2019 countdown thus far, five come out of the Dominican Republic.
