Sam Leccia founder and owner of Leccia Tobacco and Stogiebird has announced the creation of his latest project: Vintage Fresh. The concept behind Vintage Fresh pairs genuine “Vintage” artifact cigar bands on “Fresh” new blends from some of today’s favorite factories produced by brands such as Espinosa, Rocky Patel, Blackbird Cigars, and Caldwell Cigars.
The first project is called Red Tips and it pairs bands printed in 1923 with a blend produced at the La Zona factory from Espinosa Cigars.
“This project just continues to get more and more exciting. I have been able to procure millions of these amazing bands. Most of them are still factory sealed from 1915 to the early 50’s. To be able to pair these nostalgic bands with some of the best names in the industry truly honors their legacy,” commented Sam Leccia in a press release.
Red Tips is a 5 1/2 x 46 cigar that features an aged Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler. The cigars are sold in 16-count sealed Boveda humidified jars. Each jar will also include a genuine Red Tips box label that also printed in 1923. Pricing is set at $147.00 per jar.
The cigar is available for wholesale and on the Stogiebird website and will also be included in April’s Stogiebird monthly subscription.
