Oliva Cigar Company has announced a new line extension to its Oliva Serie V Melanio line in the form of a 4 x 60 box-pressed vitola.
The 4 x 60 size has been popularized under Oliva Cigar Company’s Nub line. The Serie V Melanio 4 x 60 will be a limited offering – with 8,000 ten-count boxes produced.
Oliva Cigar Co CEO Cory Bappert was a guest on Prime Time Episode 200 and discussed the project.
Melanio gets its name from Oliva family patriarch Melanio Oliva. Melanio Oliva was a tobacco grower in 19th century Cuba. He is believed to be the first Oliva family member to grow tobacco. The Serie V Melanio made its debut in 2012 and consists of an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and fillers. Production is handled out of Oliva’s TABOLISA factory in Estelí.
