At InterTabac 2022, Drew Estate will introduce a new addition to its Tabak Especial Line, the Tabak Especial Toraja. This is a cigar that will be available to Drew Estate’s international (non-U.S.) customers in early 2023.

The name Toraja draws inspiration from a coffee that is grown in Indonesia’s Sulawesi region of Toraja. A small amount of this coffee is also grown in Nicaragua, where typically it is used for celebrations of life.

The Tabak Especial Toraja features both the Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade Grown wrapper found on the Tabak Especial Dulce and the Mexican wrapper found on the Tabak Especial Negra. Both wrappers are arranged in a segmented fashion to create a two-tone “Black and Tan” exterior experience. The remainder of the blend features a Sumatra binder and all Nicaraguan fillers. The cigar comes in one size – a 5 x 54 Robusto and is presented in 12-count boxes.

“Coffee and cigars have long been enjoyed for both moments of celebration and quiet and reflective times,” says Jonathan Drew, Founder and President of Drew Estate. “Toraja coffee is an important ceremonial premium coffee that our adopted family in Nicaragua uses to celebrate the lives of their lost loved ones, and the practice touched my heart from the very first time I experienced it. Tabak Toraja cigars bring together deep moments of reflection and causes of celebration in a respectful and tasty tribute to our shared experience of living life.”

InterTabac 2022 takes place from September 15-17 in Dortmund, Germany.
