While AJ Fernandez’s footprint was certainly present at the 2022 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show, when it came to his own brands, the decision was made to skip this year’s Trade Show. From a personal standpoint, I always enjoy visiting the AJ Fernandez booth and seeing AJ and the team. The good news is if you are a fan of AJ Fernandez Cigars, there is something that is about to hit the stores – the AJ Fernandez New World Dorado.
While New World Puro Especial was slightly revamped, and there have been some line extensions, New World Dorado is the first new line since the 2019 Dias de Gloria. The cigar is produced at AJ Fernandez’s San Lotano factory. The cigar is a Nicaraguan puro and has mostly tobaccos from AJ’s Dorado farm. The cigars will come in four box-pressed sizes: Robusto (5 1/2 x 52), Toro (6 x 54), Gordita (5 1/2 x 60), and Figurado (6 x 56) – each presented in ten-count boxes. Incidentally, Dorado means “gold” and was named by AJ because of the color tint of the farm’s soil.
