El Primer Mundo has announced that PDR Cigars will now begin handling its distribution. Under the agreement, PDR will handle sales and fulfillment for the El Primer Mundo portfolio. In addition, PDR Cigars is producing the three blends of the El Primer Mundo Originals line. The agreement marks the second time the PDR has worked with El Primer Mundo to handle the company’s distribution.

El Primer Mundo was founded by Sean Williams in 2006. In 2017, Williams moved over to General Cigar Company to become the brand ambassador for Cohiba. While Williams’ focus has been on Cohiba, he didn’t relinquish ownership of El Primer Mundo. At the same time, the company has been less active since Williams has been working with General.

This is not the first time the two companies have worked together. PDR Cigars has handled production for three of El Primer Mundo lines, Epifania, La Hermandad and Costa Fuerte. From 2013 to 2014, PDR handled distribution for El Primer Mundo and at the same time, Sean Williams also served as Director of Sales for both companies. The agreement ended in 2014, but Williams continued to work with PDR for production.

The El Primer Mundo Originals line features three blends: Blue (Connecticut), Black (Habano), and Red (Maduro). These lines go back to 2006 and were originally produced at the Plasencia factory in Nicaragua.
