Cigar News: United Cigars Moves Eponymous Line to Parejo and Updates Blend

United Cigars has announced some major changes to its eponymous flagship line. This includes changing the format from box-pressed to a Parejo (rounded) format. In addition, the blends have been changed highlighted by the incorporation of different ages of Dominican tobaccos.

The United line made its debut in a box-pressed format in 2010. While the line will still be offered in a Robusto (5 x 54), Toro (6 x 54), and Churchill (7 x 54) format, these sizes will be rounded instead of box-pressed.

“I wanted to see how our United line smoked before going into the box presses,” said Oliver Nivaud, Director of Operations for United Cigars. “The traditional round format experience was great, so I spent the past 18 months fine tuning the blend to enhance the flavor and have a more balanced cigar.”

The United line is offered in a Natural and Maduro format. The Natural wrapper features an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper while the Maduro features a San Andres Mexican wrapper. Both the Natural and Maduro utilize a Dominican binder and fillers consisting of an all-Dominican filler that includes Dominican Broadleaf, Dominican Olor, tobaccos from the Quisqueya region of the Dominican Republic, and Dominican Seco. United Cigars says the combination of Dominican Broadleaf with the tobaccos from the Quisqueya region delivers a more vibrant smoking experience. Production for the United Natural and Maduro comes from Tabacalera Magia Cubana in the Dominican Republic.

Each of the three sizes is presented in the same 20-count box style as before. The boxes include the star from a piece of the American flag inserted into each box in honor of veterans.

The revamped United line will be launched at Total Products Expo 2023 (TPE 2023) scheduled to open in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 22, 2023.
