This year we are introducing a new installment to our coverage of the Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show where we will selectively highlight some existing companies making their Trade Show debut. Today we will highlight Konscious Cigars, a company based out of Tampa, Florida. Companies we will consider for this feature are reserved for first-time exhibitors at the 2023 PCA Trade Show who proactively reach out to us.

 

Based in the West Tampa area of Tampa, Florida, Konscious Cigars is owned and founded by Kevin “King” Brown. Kevin has been a cigar enthusiast since the early 2000s. Eventually, with six other business partners, Kevin would be one of the founders of Maduro Marauders Cigar Co., a cigar lounge in Tampa, Florida. Like many retailers, Kevin had a desire to launch his own cigar brand and he chose to launch Konscious Cigars. Kevin is an African-American cigar brand owner and his company is dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion in the premium cigar industry.

Konscious Cigars is exhibiting at the 2023 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show as a part of the Boutique Cigar Association (BCA) Pavilion. This is a new concept created for the 2023 Trade Show. The BCA was founded in 2016 as an association of small cigar companies across the United States, with the mission to promote and support small, family-owned cigar businesses that manufacture fewer than one million cigars per year. Last year the PCA and BCA announced the two organizations had entered into what was described as a “collaborative relationship”. As a part of the relationship, the Boutique Cigar Association of America will now be a part of the Premium Cigar Association Trade Show in 2023. That partnership led to the formation of BCA Pavilion, an area at this year’s trade show that will allow BCA members to exhibit and showcase their products. In the Pavilion, 16 companies will each have a kiosk-like booth where they will able to do business. Konscious Cigars is one of those 16 companies.

Konscious Cigars currently has five different cigars it offers in its portfolio and these are expected to be showcased at the 2023 PCA Trade Show.

Konscious Habano

Konscious Habano is offered in three distinct sizes: Toro, Robusto, and Lancero. All three blends are highlighted by an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over all-Nicaraguan binders and fillers.

The Konscious Robusto is a 5 x 52 offering. The company’s website lists the cigar at $10.00.

The Konscious Toro is a 6 x 52 offering. The company’s website lists the cigar at $11.00.

The Konscious Lancero is a 7 x 38 offering. The company’s website lists the cigar at $10.00.

Konscious Cameroon Box Pressed

As the name indicates, the company offers a box-pressed cigar featuring a Cameroon wrapper. The remainder of the blend includes an Indonesian binder and Nicaraguan fillers from the Estelí and Jalapa regions. The cigar comes in one size – a 6 x 52 Toro. MSRP for the cigar is $12.00.

Konscious Maduro Box Pressed

This is another box-pressed offering highlighted by a San Andres Maduro wrapper over an Indonesian binder and Nicaraguan fillers from the Estelí and Jalapa regions. The cigar comes in one size – a 6 x 52 Toro. The company’s website lists the cigar at $12.00.

The PCA Trade Show opens July 7, 2023, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
