At the 2023 Premium Cigar Association Trade Show, Kristoff Cigars will introduce two cigars that will be the company’s first Nicaraguan puros. One of the cigars is the Kristoff Tres Compadres.
Tres Compadres, pays homage to two friends of owner Glen Case. Case’s friend of 42 years Chuck had passed away a couple of years ago. This was followed six months later when Case’s friend and mentor Rolando Villamil would pass away. Chuck, Rolando, and Glen had all developed a friendship together and were known as the “three amigos.” Ultimately that was not a trademark that could be used for this cigar, so the cigar was dubbed Kristoff Tres Compadres.
The cigar features 100% Nicaraguan tobaccos featuring tobaccos from the three main growing regions: Condega, Estelí, and Jalapa. The cigars will be available in three sizes: Robusto (5 x 50, $9.50/cigar), Toro (6 1/4 x 54, SRP $10.50), and 6 x 60 (SRP $10.75/cigar).
The packaging follows Kristoff’s trend to move away from the rough-cut cedar boxes with loose tobacco to more sleek white lacquer boxes with gold foil. The packaging also pays homage to Chuck and Rolando by including their initials (along with Case) on the box and band.
In addition to the Tres Compadres, Kristoff’s other Nicaraguan puro being launched is the Kristoff Nicaragua.
The 2023 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show opens July 7, 2023, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Glen Case expects the cigars to ship about four weeks after the show.
