From my count, this is the ninth appearance of Crux Cigars at the PCA Trade Show. Since launching in 2014, the company has established quite a following in the cigar community. The past few years have seen Crux take its time in terms of bringing new releases to the market. Such is the case with Crux’s featured release for 2023, the Crux Epicure Habano. This is a project Crux had been talking about for quite a while. It was at the 2022 PCA Trade Show that Epicure Habano was first introduced, but it would be almost a year later before it would hit the shelves as it just shipped last month. In this author’s eyes, a “what’s new” release includes anything first shipped in the month prior to the trade show. Therefore, Crux Epicure Habano is “what’s new” for Crux Cigars.

Crux Epicure Habano is the third installment of the “Epicure” series, which has become some of Crux Cigars’ most successful series. The Epicure Series includes the Crux Epicure Maduro and the Crux Epicure (Connecticut). The Crux Epicure Habano introduces a Nicaraguan puro in four sizes: Corona Gorda (5 3/8 x 46, SRP $11.25/cigar), Robusto (5 x 50, SRP $11.99/cigar), Toro (6 1/4 x 52, SRP $13.49/cigar), and Gordo (6 x 60, SRP $14.49/cigar). Each is presented in 20-count boxes. Production is handled by Plasencia Cigars S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua.

Crux also features its Crux Limitada Short Salomone. It is a 6 x 54 short salomon(e) size of the popular Crux Limitada blend. This is now Crux’s exclusive offering to PCA retailers at the show. It should be noted that Crux still has Crux Limitada – The Show, a cigar that also was a PCA Exclusive offering (some may remember “The Show” when it was previously called Crux Limitada IPCPR Exclusive.
