When it comes to the Premium Cigar Association (PCA), the presentation can genuinely make a difference. In this case, I’m referring to the booth presentation at Wildfire Cigar Company. Undoubtedly, the booth was one of the most talked about at the 2023 PCA Trade Show – so much so that it was voted Best Small Booth at the Trade Show. Wildfire Cigar Company’s theme involves camping and campgrounds. This year, owner Jeremy McDonald re-created a campground on the show floor. This was highlighted by an actual camper, but the display also had a picnic table, retro-style lawn chair, astroturf, propane tank, and more. Beyond the recreated campground, the buzz was about Wildfire introducing its third regular production line, Artaios, this year. It is the company’s first regular production Habano wrapped offering.
Artaios fits into the whole campground theme. The name comes from Celtic mythology and refers to the “Bear God.” Produced at Joya de Nicaragua, Artaios consists of a Nicaraguan Habano Oscuro wrapper over an Indonesian binder and all Nicaraguan fillers. The cigars are being launched in three sizes: Corona Gorda (46 x 5 5/8, SRP $12.50), Robusto (50 x 5 1/4, SRP $13.00), and Toro (52 x 6 1/4, SRP $13.60).
