West Tampa Tobacco Company has announced its second limited edition release, Boliche Blvd.
Boliche Blvd is a section of Columbus Drive in Tampa, Florida, that is known for its Cuban culinary eateries and bakeries. It is named for a popular dish made from eye round roast, chorizo sausage, and tomato sauce.
The Boliche Blvd cigar will come in one size – a 6 x 60 Gigante. The company is not disclosing any specifics about the blend that makes up the Boliche Blvd cigar. While all of West Tampa Tobacco Co’s previous releases have come from the Garmendia Cigars factory in Nicaragua, Boliche Blvd comes from Nicaraguan American Cigars S.A. (NACSA), the factory owned by Oliva Tobacco Co.
“For me this cigar is personal,” wrote Rick Rodriguez, master blender and co-owne, in a press release. “The vision for naming our company West Tampa was to create an opportunity to celebrate the rich cigar making history of Tampa, create awareness of its vibrant and eclectic present and be a part of shaping its bright future.” Rodriguez continued, “To make this cigar represent Tampa I partnered up with a legendary tobacco family, Oliva Tobacco Company.”
Boliche Blvd is packaged in 50-count boxes with a total production of 500 boxes. Pricing for Boliche Blvd is set at $12.99. The cigars are expected to ship by the end of the month.
West Tampa Tobacco Co. was launched by Rick Rodriguez and Gus Martinez in 2022. The company has three regular production lines, West Tampa White, West Tampa Black, and West Tampa Red. In addition, the company launched its first limited edition cigar in 2022 with the initial installment of the Attic Series.
