Next month, the Armando Artamendi Cabinet Selection Sun Grown will make its debut. This project is a collaboration of Isaisas “Santana Diaz” of Pure Aroma Cigars, Andres Leon of Tabacos de Costa Rica, and Armando Atramendi, owner of Aficionado Premium Cigars & Wine in Pembroke Pines, Florida. The cigar is scheduled to begin shipping on March 1.
Inspiration for the Armando Artamendi Cabinet Selection Sun Grown came back in 2019. The idea was to develop a cigar that would honor Armando’s Cuban heritage. From there, Diaz would work with Andres Leon to make this concept a reality.
The cigar features an Ecuadorian-grown Habano Colorado wrapper. This wrapper undergoes a triple fermentation process over a period of ten months, followed by one year of aging in Spanish cedar boxes that can hold up to 100 pounds per box. The blend features five-year-aged tobacco fillers sourced from Jalapa, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic.
The Armando Artamendi Cabinet Selection Sun Grown will be available in two sizes: Enormous (6 x 60, SRP $15.00) and Robusto Extra (5 1/2 x 52, SRP $14.00). Enormous will be available in 12-count boxes, while the Robusto Extra comes in 25-count boxes.
