Dominican Republic President Luis Abinader Corona was the special guest at the final gala of the Procigar 2024 festival. President Abinader is a well-known supporter of the Dominican cigar industry.

President Abinader sat at a table with several members of the Procigar organization. He then took to the stage when Procigar recognized Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia for capturing Cigar Aficionado magazine’s #1 Cigar of the Year for 2023. Arturo Fuente Chairman Carlos “Carlito” Fuente presented the President with a special box of cigars.

As a supporter of Procigar and the cigar industry, President Abinader has had several interactions with the Dominican Republic cigar industry. Back in January, Arturo Fuente President Ciro Cascella visited President Abinader in his office in the Presidential Palace and presented him with the Arturo Fuente Felix Assouline book.  In 2022, when the Procigar organization celebrated its 30th anniversary with a special luncheon it was attended by President Abinader.
