Ozgener Family Cigars will launch Firsat at the 2024 Premium Cigar Association Trade Show. It is a Connecticut Shade offering on the milder side.
Firsat is the Turkish word for “opportunity.” This is the third regular production offering in the Ozgener portfolio that pays homage to owner Tim Ozgener and his family’s Turkish roots. The company’s first core offering, Bosphorus, is named after the Bosphorus Strait, which runs through Istanbul and Turkey and separates Europe from Asia. The second core offering, Aramas, is inspired by Mt. Ararat in Eastern Turkey, which is also referred to as “Masis.” The Aramas name is a hybrid of ‘Ararat’ and ‘Masis.’
Firsat also rounds out a core line trifecta – consisting of the Habano 2000 wrapper of Bosphorus and San Andres wrapper Aramas. Produced at Casa Carrillo in the Dominican Republic, the blend uses a Connecticut Shade wrapper over a Habano Ecuador wrapper and all Nicaraguan fillers. Pricing ranges from $12.00 to $14.00.
Cigar Aficionado first reported details on the Ozgener Firsat. The 2024 PCA Trade Show opens on March 24, 2024. The company expects to start shipping this cigar in April.
