At the 2024 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show, Topper Cigar will launch the Topper 1894 cigar line. Recently, Chris Topper, President of Topper Cigar, found historical documents confirming the company’s inception traces back to 1894. This finding establishes Topper Cigar as the longest-standing family-owned cigar company in America. To honor this legacy and mark the company’s 130th anniversary, Topper Cigar is launching a new line: Topper 1894.
“I was thrilled to discover a letter penned by my great-grandfather,” said Chris Topper in a press release. “Dated 1921 and featuring a vintage Topper Cigar logo, this letter unveiled a richer narrative for our brand and positions Topper Cigar as the oldest family owned and operated cigar company in the country. In light of this historical revelation, it was only fitting to develop a new line of cigars that honors my family’s legacy and delivers a new product that appeals to today’s cigar smokers.”
The Topper 1894 features Habano seed tobacco grown in the U.S. and U.S. seed tobacco grown in the Dominican Republic. The cigar is produced at the De Los Reyes factory in the Dominican Republic. Presented in 20-count boxes, Topper 1894 comes in three sizes: Toro (6 x 54), Corona (6 x 44), and Robusto (5 x 50). Pricing will be announced at the PCA Trade Show.
The Topper 1894 is slated to be a regular production offering for Topper Cigar.
The 2024 PCA Trade Show opens on March 23 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Topper 1894 will ship in May 2024.
