At the 2024 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show, Joya de Nicaragua introduced a packaging refresh to its Antaño line of cigars. The packaging refresh will primarily focus on the box design of the four blends under the Antaño brand.
The Antaño line goes back to 2001 when the Antaño 1970 was introduced. At the time many considered it a game changer because of the strength and boldness that cigar had. Since then, three other blends have joined the Antaño family: Antaño Dark Corojo, Antaño Gran Reserva, and Antaño CT. The new packaging for all four blends will feature a bull. Don Leonel Raudez, the then General Manager of the Joya de Nicaragua Factory, described Antaño 1970 as “dark as night, strong as a bull.”
Another change is that Antaño 1970 is being rebranded as Antaño Original, which is also reflected in the banding. The blends remain the same.
“Born from JDN’s ambition to redefine the limits of strength and boldness 23 years ago, Antaño has consistently lived up to that vision. Now, its packaging mirrors that audacity,” declares Juan Martínez, Executive President of Joya de Nicaragua.
The new packaging will begin shipping in Q4 2024 to retailers.
