PCA 2024 My Father

Coming into the 2024 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show, My Father Cigars had already had an exciting year. Not only did the company win the Cigar Coop 2023 Cigar of the Year with the Le Bijou 1922 100 Años, but for the second year in a row, My Father Cigars was our Large Factory of the Year. This year, the momentum continued, highlighted by the launch of the Fonseca MX Edition. In addition, there was the national launch of the Don Pepin Vintage Edition and a new size for El Centurion H-2K-CT. Perhaps the most exciting news would be plans for the Le Bijou 1922 100 Años to make a return.

The Fonseca MX Edition is the second blend introduced during Fonseca’s My Father Cigars era. The term “MX” stands for “Mexico Edition,” and the cigar is named after its Mexican San Andres Oscuro wrapper. The rest of the blend comprises Nicaraguan tobaccos. The Fonseca MX Edition is available in four sizes, namely Robusto, Toro, Toro Grande, and Cedros, and comes in 20-count boxes. The MX Edition has already been shipped to retailers, with a suggested retail price between $11.00 and $13.50.

Second, the Don Pepin Vintage Edition, a cigar line that was previously only available to the Tobacconists Association of America (TAA) to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Don Pepin Garcia brand, is now being launched nationwide. This cigar is made entirely of Nicaraguan tobacco, including a Nicaraguan Corojo wrapper. It is presented in ten-count boxes and comes in five different sizes: Corona Gorda, Petite Robusto, Robusto, Toro, and Toro Gordo. The band of the cigar is based on one of Don José “Pepin” Garcia’s original band designs. The cigar is priced between $13.50 and $14.50 SRP.

Third, a new size El Centurion H-2K-CT was introduced with the 5 1/2 x 58 box-pressed Toro Grande—the first new regular production size added since the line was introduced in 2015. The H-2K-CT features a unique hybrid wrapper. The remainder of the blend consists of Nicaraguan tobaccos grown by the Garcia family, owners of My Father Cigars. This cigar has shipped and is priced at $10.70.

Finally, while it wasn’t showcased at the 2024 PCA Trade Show, the Garcia family announced that the Le Bijou 1922 100 Años line is coming back biennially (every two years).
