PCA 2024: AJ Fernandez

This year, at the 2024 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show, there were two new offerings by AJ Fernandez Cigars. The first is a brand extension to the Dias de Gloria brand – the Dias de Gloria Brazil. As the name hints, the cigar incorporates a Brazilian wrapper as a part of the blend. The second thing is that we haven’t seen AJ Fernandez Cigars do much at a Trade Show preview something way in advance. That preview turns out to be a cigar commemorating 20 years that AJ has been in the cigar business.

Produced at Tabacalera AJ Fernandez Cigars de Nicaragua, Dias de Gloria Brazil features a Brazilian Mata Fina wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and fillers from AJ Fernandez’s farms. It’s not the first time Fernandez has gone Brazilian Mata Fina on a brand extension.  Back in 2018, Fernandez released the Bellas Artes Maduro with Brazilian Mata Fina. Presented in 20-count boxes, Dias de Gloria Brazil is offered in five box-pressed sizes.

  • Corona: 6 1/2 x 44 ($14.00 SRP)
  • Robusto: 5 1/2 x 54 ($14.50 SRP)
  • Toro 6 1/2 x 54 ($15.00 SRP)
  • Figurado 6 1/2 x 52 ($15.50 SRP)
  • Gordo 6 1/2 x 60 ($16.00 SRP)

The AJ Fernandez team describes the AJ Fernandez 20th Anniversary as a preview. It’s planned for a fall release and pricing is still TBD. This 20th Anniversary line has two limited edition offerings – each featuring 100% tobaccos from Nicaragua. The first is a 6 x 56 Toro packaged in elegant 20-count piano-finish boxes. A total of 7,500 boxes will be produced for this offering.

The second is a 6 3/4 x 54 Belicoso. A special commemorative humidor includes 50 Belicoso cigars. A total of 250 humidors have been made.
