Plenty was going on at Artista Cigars at the 2024 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show. The new offerings played to many of the company’s strengths. The company introduced a new blend to its eponymous flagship line. In addition, the David Ortiz brand got its first new blend in five years. Artista Cigars has garnered an excellent reputation for value-priced cigars, and this year is no exception as it showcased the recently released Art-56.
Named for red barns in North Europe and the United States, Falu is the third blend under the Artista line. Artista wanted to add a full-strength, full-bodied blend, and Falu fits the bill. The blend features a Broadleaf wrapper, which the company describes as rich and toothy. The remainder of the blend incorporates an Indonesian binder over an undisclosed filler blend. Falu comes in two box-pressed sizes: Robusto ($10.20 SRP/cigar) and Toro ($10.40 SRP/cigar). The sizes and pricing are analogous to the Artista Harvest and Midnight blends. Both sizes come in 20-count boxes. Falu has currently shipped to retailers.
HOF is the third offering under baseball great David Ortiz’s brand. HOF stands for Hall of Fame. The cigar honors Ortiz’s induction to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2022. HOF by David Ortiz features a Mexican San Andres wrapper, a sweet Indonesian binder, and an undisclosed filler blend.
HOF by David Ortiz comes in two sizes: a regular production Toro 54 x 6 (SRP $15.00/cigar) and 541 boxes of the limited edition Figurado (SRP $16.00/cigar). The Toro comes in a 20-count box, while the LE Figurado comes in a 10-count box. In addition, Ortiz will also autograph a select number of the Figurado boxes. The 541 box count of the limited edition correlates to the number of home runs Ortiz hit in his career. The HOF is targeted to ship in July.
Introduced at Total Product Expo (TPE) 2024, Art-56 is a line that pays homage to the Artista factory’s founding year of 1956. This line offers three wrapper options: Claro, Natural, and Maduro, each presenting a unique flavor profile. Packaged in 10-count bundles, each blend of Art-56 comes in two sizes, Robusto and Toro, priced at $28.00 and $29.90 per bundle, respectively. Art-56 is a testament to Artista’s rich history and commitment to providing quality cigars at a great value. It is currently shipping to retailers.
