Oveja Negra Brands has announced the return of the Black Label Trading Company Bishops Blend for 2024. It marks the eighth release of the Bishops Blend. Bishops Blend is an annual limited production release made available to select retailers.
Bishops Blend features an Ecuadorian Habano Maduro wrapper over an Ecuadorian Habano binder and filler consisting of both Connecticut and Pennsylvania Broadleaf as well as Nicaraguan tobacco. It is being released in the Corona, Robusto, and Lancero formats. All three sizes are packaged in 20-count boxes. Production comes from Fabrica Oveja Negra in Estelí, Nicaragua.
“We are very excited about this highly anticipated release. This is the eighth release of Bishops Blend and continues to be one of our most sought-after, limited annual releases. Bishops Blend boasts big bold flavors of anise, pepper, raisins, and a sweet earthiness on the finish. It is very complex and extremely refined. As with the past vintages, the broadleaf fillers shine at the forefront and are perfectly balanced by the Nicaraguan filler tobaccos,” said James Brown, creator of Black Label Trading Co. and partner at Fabrica Oveja Negra in a press release.
Bishops Blend made its debut in 2016 and has been an annual release since. Last year, a special offshoot called Bishops Blend Novemdiales was released. The 2024 edition of Bishops Blend marks a return to the original core blend that was released from 2016 to 2022.
