Les Fines Lames is celebrating its fifth anniversary. Five years ago, the company commemorated the 50th anniversary of the Moon landing by launching three special versions of its signature Le Petit cigar knife into space. These Le Petit cigar knives were significant because each had the topography of the moon on it. At the time, the company used these special designs to introduce the Le Petit cigar knife to the world. Now, Les Fines Lames is bringing back this special design to mark its fifth anniversary.
First up is the Le Petit Gold Moon 5th Anniversary (LE) Cigar Knife. The Le Petit Gold Moon features the topography of the moon carved in gold. Black anodized aluminum outlines the unit. The company says this is the 100th design on the Le Petit. In addition, this version includes a damasteel blade. Limited to ten cutters, the Gold Moon costs $680 USD (€680 EUR).
In addition, there is the Le Petit Silver Moon 5th Anniversary edition. This is a limited but more widespread release. It features the moon’s topography in silver and costs $299 USD (€299 EUR).
“Les Fines Lames stand out and will always stand out with innovation. When we sent the first three LE PETIT into space five years ago, that’s exactly the message we conveyed. It’s a creed that has driven the company every day since then. Thinking outside of the box got us where we are now. The cigar knife was a rarity in an industry dominated by double-blade cutters, so we reinvented it!” commented Pierre Jourdan, Founder, President, and Creative Director, in a press release.
The Les Fines Lames company is located in Thiers, France, the unofficial capital of French cutlery. The Les Lames Le Petit Cigar Knife is a friction folder knife that can cut up to a 70-ring gauge cigar.
