General Cigar has announced a limited edition box-pressed torpedo offering under its Macanudo Emissary España Limited Edition. This is the first extension to the Macanudo Emissary España, which was introduced earlier this year. The new limited edition is a 6 x 52 box-pressed torpedo scheduled to ship on October 1, 2024.

The new limited edition of the Macanudo Emissary Españ shares the same blend as the regular production line. Macanudo Emissary España is unique in that not only does it incorporate tobacco with five to ten years of aging, but it also incorporates tobacco from Spain. The Spanish tobacco comes from a farm near the town of Riolobos in the West-Central region of Spain. In addition to the Spanish tobacco, the filler also incorporates several other filler tobaccos, including five-year-aged Dominican Piloto, six-year-aged Nicaraguan, and five-year-aged Colombian tobacco. The binder is a six-year-old Nicaraguan leaf from Condega. Finally, the España is finished with a five-year-aged Connecticut-grown Broadleaf Claro wrapper.

In a press release, Steve Abbot, director of marketing, said, “For the Emissary lineup, we really wanted to pull out all of the stops and craft a cigar that epitomizes European sophistication. We are really happy with the result, and based on the popularity of the cigar, we wanted to come out with another great offering. We landed on a box-pressed torpedo, which brings out the best blend for a smooth smoking experience that highlights the rare tobaccos within.”

A total of 1,500 16-count boxes have been produced. Pricing comes in at $17.99.
