Procigar has opened registration for its 2025 annual festival, which will take place in the Dominican Republic from February 16 to 21.
Procigar is an organization of cigar manufacturers based in the Dominican Republic. Each year, they put on an annual festival that combines farm and factory tours, seminars, and gala evening events. It is for end-consumers and is usually held in February. It is one of three major festivals in the cigar industry, the others being Festival del Habano (Cuba) and Puro Sabor (Nicaragua).
The Procigar Festival 2025 will be held in two cities: La Romana (February 16-18, 2025) and Santiago (February 19-21, 2025), both in the Dominican Republic.
Two significant changes to the festival are coming in 2025 on the Santiago end.
- First, the host hotel is changing to the new Residence Inn by Marriott. For many years, the Hodelpa Gran Almirante has served as the host hotel. Other hotels will be the new AC Marriott and Hodelpa Garden Court. The welcome reception in Santiago will be at the Residence Inn.
- Second, there will be three days of factory and farm tours in Santiago from February 19 to 21. The previous years had featured a “Field Day” of the cigar manufacturers on the final full day (Friday). Now, a third day will offer attendees an additional opportunity for tours.
Like 2024, the La Romana portion will also feature a Catamaran trip to Isla de Catalina. This year, Procigar says a cigar seminar will take place on the island.
The traditional gala dinners at Parque de Central, Monumento a los Héroes de la Restauración (White Dinner), and Centro Español (Auction Gala) dinner remain in place.
