J.C. Newman Cigar Company is adding a new size to its Diamond Crown Julius Caeser line called The Troublemaker. The Troublemaker adds a 5 3/4 x 52 soft perfecto to the Julius Caeser lineup. J.C. Newman is currently shipping The Troublemaker to its 36 Diamond Crown Lounges and will make the cigar nationally available in 2025.
“One of my longtime mentors is Rich Dolak, the vice president of operations at both J.C. Newman and Arturo Fuente,” said Drew Neman in a press release. “Since I was a teenager, I’ve sat in Rich’s office and listened to him teach me about the cigar business. Above Rich’s desk hangs a vintage poster with a unique cigar shape. Three years ago, I asked him, ‘Why can’t we roll a cigar like that?’”
“We call it ‘The Troublemaker’ because it was very difficult to make,” added Newman. “Rich used a knife to shape a dowel to match the cigar shown in the poster above his desk (below). We then used that hand-carved dowel to create custom cigar molds for this special size.”
Like the rest of the Julius Caeser line, The Troublemaker is produced at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia in the Dominican Republic. The Julius Caeser line features an Ecuadorian Havana wrapper, a Dominican binder, and a combination of Caribbean and Central American Tobaccos. The Troublemaker comes in 20-count leather boxes. Pricing is $17.00 SRP each.
