Lampert Cigars has announced that City of Palms will now handle its fulfillment in the United States. The move is expected to occur by the beginning of December 2024.
Previously, Sutliff Tobacco handled fulfillment. Earlier this year, Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) acquired Mac Baren, the parent company of Sutliff Tobacco. Sutliff had built a distribution and fulfillment arm for many smaller companies. Following the acquisition, Sutliff decided to cease distribution and fulfillment.
In the announcement of the change in fulfillment, Lampert Cigars pointed out that having the City of Palms based in Florida will allow it to meet its growing customer needs more promptly and with greater flexibility.
A little over a year ago, Lampert changed its overall distribution model for the U.S. by taking control of its own distribution. The company hired a national sales manager and moved toward building a sales team of brokers and dedicated sales representatives. The company says this move will better serve the needs of the U.S. premium cigar market. At the time, Sutliff was handling its fulfillment to support the U.S. team.
“We would like to thank Sutliff Tobacco for their great efforts and are looking forward to working with City of Palms as we continue to grow,” commented Lampert Cigars in a press release.
