Gellis Family Cigars Piece Unique

Gellis Family Cigars has announced the release of Piece Unique, a term borrowed from horology, which refers to one-of-a-kind timepieces produced by watchmaking houses. The concept behind Piece Unique is that its interior blend (binder and filler) will only be crafted once. Gellis Family Cigars is a new brand founded by Kyle Gellis, owner and founder of Warped Cigars.

The first installment (also dubbed Piece Unique) features a Grade 1 Connecticut Shade wrapper from ASP (and is referred to as Bale #3BW). The remainder of the blend features Nicaraguan tobacco on the binder and filler. The filler also contains Dominican tobacco. Piece Unique comes in one size – a 6 x 52 Toro. The cigars are packaged in 15-count boxes, and production is limited to 500 boxes. Each box comes with a dust bag and outer cardboard packaging.

Production for Piece Unique comes from Tabacalera La Isla and is limited to 150 cigars daily. The cigars were aged for one year in Spanish cedar before being boxed. Gellis Family Cigars says the process from start to finish to produce Piece Unique takes one to two years.

Pricing on Warped Cigars’ retail site Drop Cigar Club lists this installment of Piece Unique priced at $40.00 per cigar.
