The Details

The 2024 #30 Cigar of the Year is the Crowned Heads Mil Días Maduro Edmundo. Over the past few years, Mil Días has been a very successful blend for Crowned Heads. Mil Días has had a very successful core line and several limited releases. The name Mil Diás translates to “1,000 days.” It’s a reference to the nearly three-year journey that was taken to develop the original blend. Early in 2024 came a new extension to the Mil Días line in the form of a Maduro. Mil Días Maduro is an entirely different blend than the original Mil Días Habano release.

The Mil Días Maduro uses a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper and Habano binder. The fillers are from three Nicaraguan regions (Jalapa, Condega, and Ometepe). Mil Días Maduro is a completely different blend than the original Mil Dias Habano release. The Edmundo measures 5 3/8 x 52. The Mil Días Maduro production comes from Eradio Pichardo’s TacaNicsa factory in Nicaragua.

The Mil Días Maduro Edmundo delivers a mix of cocoa, earth, minerals, cedar, pepper, and a unique blueberry note. The smoking experience provides medium-bodied notes countered by medium strength.

This is the fifth time that Crowned Heads has landed on the Cigar Coop Countdown. All five appearances have occurred over the last seven years.
