Over the past couple of weeks, My Father Cigars has begun shipping the Don Pepin Garcia E.R.H. to its retailers. This cigar had a soft-launch late last year for Tobacconist Association of America (TAA) retailers. Cigar Coop has been informed by several non TAA retailers the E.R.H. has now shipped to them.
E.R.H stands for El Rey de Los Habanos. This is named for the factory in Little Havana, Miami where Don Pepin Garcia started out. The El Rey de Los Habanos line was first released out of Miami in 2005. It was discontinued around 2011. In 2014, a new version showed up as an exclusive cigar for The Pipe and Pint located in Greenboro, North Carolina.
Now what was El Rey de Los Habanos has been rebranded and rebounded as E.R.H. It is also now branded with the Don Pepin Garcia branding, but keeps the line’s red band color. This is similar to what was done with Vegas Cubanas when it was rebranded.
Produced out of Nicaragua, the Don Pepin Garcia E.R.H. now includes a Sumatra Rosado wrapper over Nicaraguan tobaccos from Condega, Estelí, and Jalapa. It comes in three sizes – each presented in ten count boxes: Robusto (5 X 54), Toro (6 X 52), and Toro Gordo (6 X 60). Pricing comes in between $9.95 and $11.95.
