Aladino 85 Aniversario Reserva

At the 2025 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show, JRE Tobacco Company is introducing the Aladino 85 Aniversario Reserva. This cigar commemorates company patriarch Julio R. Eiroa‘s 85th birthday. The project was originally planned as an 80th birthday cigar for Eiroa; however, it took much longer than expected. Finally, at 87 years old, Eiroa can introduce the final product: the Aladino 85 Aniversario Reserva.

The cigar is a Honduran Pinareño puro. Pinareño seed was introduced to Honduras by Tino Agurdin in 1960. The Pinareño seed produces smaller yields and is more susceptible to diseases compared to the Authentic Corojo cultivated by the Eiroas. As a result, this type of tobacco is not commonly grown. Julio Eiroa has been cultivating crops using the Pinareño seed for the past few years. A small amount of the tobacco was incorporated into Asylum Sensorium cigar, a brand co-owned by Julio’s son Christian. Now, with the 85 Aniversario Reserva, JRE introduces a blend using 100% Pinareño seed tobacco.

The 85 Aniversario Reserva comes in two sizes: Robusto (5 x 50, SRP $17.50) and Toro (6 x 52, SRP $20). Each size ships in 20-count boxes. The boxes are yellow, Eiroa’s favorite color. The inside vista and outside of the box has an image of Eiroa’s 1961 yellow Buick.

Production will be an ongoing part of the JRE portfolio, but availability will be limited to four boxes per vitola each month for retailers.

The 2025 PCA Trade Show opens in New Orleans, Louisiana, on April 12, 2025. At a glance, here is a look at the 85 Aniversario Reserva.
