Asylum Megalphobia

At the 2025 Premium Cigar Association Trade Show, C.L.E. Cigar Company will launch a massive cigar under its Asylum brand called Megalophobia. This cigar measures 134 x 13 – that’s a 134mm ring gauge and 13 inches in length!

Megalophobia is the fear of large objects. When it comes to large cigars, over the past few years, there have been many releases to push the envelope in terms of how large is large. By Cigar Coop’s records, the largest cigar meant for smoking was the CroMagnon Femur, measuring 133 1/3 x 10.  Femur was released in 2013 and was quite limited. Over the past few years, we have seen Asylum produce ongoing 80 x 8 and 90 x 9 releases. More recently, Aganorsa Leaf topped the 100 x 10 threshold with its annual release. Asylum Megalophobia passes Femur in the ring gauge and length department, and now has the unofficial record.

On the package are the words “Enough is Enough.” “It is meant as a plea to stop making (large) cigars because Tom (Lazuka) won’t,” commented Christian Eiroa, C.L.E. founder.

Megalophobia is genuinely massive. C.L.E. Cigar Company provided some comparisons for Asylum Cigars. The Megalophobia contains 8.3 ounces of tobacco, which is remarkable. To put this into perspective, an Asylum 13 70 x 7, which is considered large by most cigar smokers, has only 1.1 ounces of tobacco. Meanwhile, an Asylum 13 Robusto contains approximately 0.5 ounces of tobacco.

Megalophobia will be packaged in two-count boxes that will also include a lighter. The price for a box is $250.o0 SRP, which comes out to $125.00 per cigar.

The 2025 PCA Trade Show opens April 12, 2025, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
