La Flor Dominicana Suave

At the 2025 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show, La Flor Dominicana will introduce a completely revamped version of its Suave line.

Back in 1994, when Litto and Ines entered the cigar business, they had a Dominican cigar with a Connecticut Shade wrapper known as Premium. That line would eventually be renamed to Suave, which was a core line in the LFD portfolio. Now, Suave is getting a blend makeover and packaging change.

In a press release, Litto Gomez said, “We sat down and asked ourselves, if we could go back to day one knowing everything we know now, what would this cigar have been? What would it look like? And then we got to work.”

The new Suave remains a mild to medium blend. It now comes in two wrapper options: Ecuadorian Corojo and San Andres. Both cigars are new blends but maintain the original vitolas and names. The Suave with the Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper also incorporates a San Andres binder over all Dominican fillers. It comes in three sizes: Maceo (48 x 5), Maximo (54 x 6), and Gobernador (60 x 6 1/4).  Meanwhile, the San Andres wrapped Suave blend features a Jalapa binder and all Dominican fillers. It comes in two sizes: Grand Maduro No 5 (52 x 6 1/4) and Grand Maduro No. 6 (54 x 5 3/4).

In addition, Suave’s packaging has also undergone a major overhaul.  Tony Gomez said, “It’s bright and bold yet classic, it symbolizes the joie de vivre at the core of LFD. I compare it to the smooth joy and elegance of trotting through our farm on a Paso Fino horse while enjoying a beautiful cigar.”

Pricing for Suave ranges from $8.40 to $12.80. All five SKUs come in 20-count boxes.

Suave is scheduled to ship in July. The 2025 PCA Trade Show opens April 12, 2025, in New Orleans.
