Serafin de Cuba Reserva 2056

Serafin de Cuba Cigars has announced it is rebranding its El Capitan Cigar to Reserva 2506.

Arnold Serafin, owner of Serafin de Cuba, explained in a statement that the name change was prompted by a request from Villiger Cigars to cease and desist, as they produce a La Capitan brand. The Serafin El Capitan release was created to honor a longtime friend and associate, Jose “El Capitan” Gallinat. Significantly, the Reserva 20 will continue to pay tribute to Gallinat with its new name, Reserva 2056.

“Moving forward now, the Serafin cigar will be released under the Tabacos Serafin TM and named Reserva 2506 in honor of Mr. Gallinat and his fellow Cuban Brigade 2506 veterans who fought heroically during the 1961 Bay of Pigs invasion,” said Serafin.

The Reserva 2506 remains the same cigar as before. It’s a 7 x 54 Torpedo. The blend features a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over Nicaragua binder and filler. Pricing comes in at $15.00 per cigar, and only 1,000 boxes of ten are being released.

Serafin plans to debut the renamed Serafin de Cuba Reserva 2506 at the 2025 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show. The Trade Show opens in New Orleans on April 12, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
