Avowed Cigars has announced The Vow: Higher Calling. This limited edition cigar is coming out in time for Father’s Day.
Produced at Klaas Kelner’s Kelner Cigars S.A.S. in the Dominican Republic, Higher Calling is based on Avowed’s original Vow 6.29 blend. It uses higher priming leaves, including Cotuí tobacco sourced from Monika Kelner’s farms in the Dominican Republic. The cigars also received two full years of aging before they were released. The company says that this cigar holds historical significance for them in that it was one of the first blends produced by the factory, even pre-dating the production of the original Vow line.
Like the original Vow, the Vow: Higher Calling features Ecuadorian Habano tobacco for the wrapper and binder. The fillers are a mix of Piloto Cubano, Criollo 98, Corojo 99, San Vincente, and Cotui tobacco. Higher Calling comes in ten-count boxes with pricing set at $20.00.
“One of my favorite things about Avowed Cigars is that each of us are fathers,” explained Dave West of Avowed Cigars in a press release. “Most of the year is spent laboring to provide a better childhood for our kids, but on Father’s Day, we slow down to take stock of where we are, how we got here, and where we’re going. Expect Avowed to release something truly special each year worthy of a Father’s Day celebration.”
Andrew Considine added, “We often talk about the future and the legacy we’re building for our children. They are the driving force behind everything we do and our Higher Calling. As fathers, we recognize the incredible value of time and wanted our first Father’s Day release to be aged to perfection.”
