PCA 2025 Illusione Cigars

The 2025 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show marked the second busy year in a row for Illusione Cigars. This year, the big release was a new blend under the Epernay brand. There were also extensions to last year’s releases – The Group of Five and the OneOff Black & Tan. Finally the Original Documents line saw some new Tubos offered up to retailers.

Epernay Tuonela

In terms of major releases at PCA 2025, the new Illusione Epernay Tuonela might have fallen under the radar quite a bit. Epernay has long been a staple in the Illusione portfolio and now it sees an all-new blend. The name Tuonela comes from Finnish mythology and it refers to the underworld. Given Tuonela is a “darker” offering, there is some context with he name. As for the cigar, Epernay Tuonela is a San Andres wrapped offering. Produced at Fábrica de Tabacos Raíces Cubanas S. de R.L in Honduras, Illusione Epernay Tuonela comes in four sizes. Packaged in 25-count boxes, the four sizes (all from the original line) include:

  • Le Ferme: 5 1/4 x 48 (Robusto)
  • Le Grande: 6 x 46 (Corona Gorda)
  • Le Monde: 6 1/4 x 52 (Toro)
  • Le Taureau: 5 1/2 x 56 (Bench)

Illusione Epernay Tuonela has begun shipping to retailers already.

The Group of Five SE

The Group of Five gets its second vitola with a 6 x 56 vitola called SE. Keeping with the look of many of Illusione’s other 6 x 56 offerings found in the line, the SE is wrapped in a foil with a color unique to the line. In this case, it’s a teal-colored foil. The SE comes in 15-count boxes. Blend details have not been disclosed. This follows up the first size, The Group of Five RB (a Robusto) that made its debut last year.

OneOff Black & Tan Toro

Another line getting its second size is the Illusione OneOff Black & Tan line. OneOff Black & Tan made its debut last year in a Robusto size. Now, the line gets a Toro size. The tobaccos in this blend include one from a unique (and undisclosed) seed on Eduardo Fernandez’s Nicaraguan farms. Owner Dion Giolito was so impressed with the tobacco, he had bales of it set aside for this project. The cigar comes in ten-count boxes.

Original Documents Tubos

Finally, the Original Documents Corojo and the Original Documents Habano are getting Tubo offerings. These Tubos will house a 6 x 50 Toro offering. The Tubos come in 15-count boxes. The new Original Documents Toro Tubo offerings are slated to ship in July.
