La Aurora Cigars has announced it will re-launch the La Aurora Especiales in the U.S. market. This is a cigar that was last released in 2022 as a limited edition. The cigar will have a debut at the Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Fall Fundraiser on September 11. Following the fundraiser, it will ship nationwide in October.

La Aurora Especiales was the culmination of a six-year project working with some of its key retail partners. During this project, La Aurora solicited input from about 100 retailers who visited the La Aurora factory. Master blender Manuel Inoa used the input to assemble a final blend and the La Aurora Especiales was born.

The blend for the Especiales is the same as 2022. It features an Ecuadorian-grown Cameroon seed wrapper over a Dominican binder and a combination of Dominican and U.S. grown tobaccos. The cigars are being released in the same sizes as 2022:

  • Robusto: 5 x 50  (SRP $13.50/cigar)
  • Toro: 5 3/4 x 54 (SRP $14.50/cigar)
  • Corona Gorda: 6 x 47 (SRP $14.00/cigar)
  • Gran Toro: 6 x 58 (SRP $15.00/cigar)

“This is a very special product for me because it represents our commitment to U.S. retailers and our desire to craft products that not only stay true to our roots in the Dominican Republic but represent the growing and changing palates of U.S. cigar aficionados,” comments Iturbides Zaldivar, Director of Sales & Marketing at La Aurora.

“This is the second year that we are launching a major collaboration at our fall fundraiser, and we are very proud of the company we are collaborating with and the product itself. Over the past year the PCA team has worked with La Aurora on an Alliance exclusive cigar and they are hosting our pairing as part of the FIU Luxury Marketing Class this November. This is another win-win for both La Aurora, the association, and our retail membership” says Joshua Habursky Chief Executive Officer of the Premium Cigar Association.

La Aurora will donate $0.50 for each cigar solid to the PCA to support further advocacy efforts.
