Details were published in Cigar Aficionado on a special limited edition cigar release for Miami Cigar and Company’s president Nestor Miranda’s 70th birthday.
According to the article, the Nestor Miranda 70th will feature two distinct blends from the two main factories that Miami Cigars works with – the My Father Cigar factory in Nicaragua, and the La Aurora factory in the Dominican Republic.
The cigars will be lanceros. There will be six cigars of each blend packaged together. The unique feature is a the box will be in the shape of a speedster sports car. The Cigar Aficionado article features a photo of the cigar packaging.
Miranda’s birthday is on Valentine’s Day 2013- Februrary 14th. The plan will be for 1,000 boxes produced . 700 boxes are slated for release on his birthday. The remaining 300 boxes will be released at a later date.
The concept of packaging two blends in a single box has been one that has been catching on in the cigar industry. In 2011 My Father Cigars released a retail exclusive (Casa de Montecristo) Commemorative 911 Cigar packaged with both rosado and oscuro wrapped cigars. This was followed up in 2012 with another retail exclusive Commemorative 911 Cigar consisting of a Connecticut Shade and maduro wrapped cigars. Earlier this year, Illusione Cigars released its Singulare 2011 (Rosado) and Singulare 2012 (Maduro) in a single package.
