|El Centurion by Don Pepin Garcia (Original Release)|
Jose Ortega and Janny Garcia, from My Father Cigars were guests on the January 5, 2013 edition of Kiss My Ash Radio and have announced the return of the El Centurion by Don Pepin Garcia.
The original release of the El Centurion was a limited release in 2007 under the Don Pepin Garcia brand name. There were only 850 boxes of each size produced. With the 2013 re-launch, Ortega indicated the El Centurion will become a regular production line. Ortega said the timeframe in terms of a release date is still being determined.
The return of the El Centurion, along with the upcoming Don Pepin Garcia Limited Edition cigar will be a part of 10th anniversary celebratory year of the Don Pepin Garcia brand. There were no specifics on frontmarks offered.
Here are the details of the original El Centurion brand:
The El Centurion was an all-Nicaraguan puro consisting of a Nicaraguan Habano wrapper over Criollo 98 and Corojo 99 for the binder and filler (editor’s note: it turned out several months later the return of the El Centurion would feature a very different blend)
Wrapper: Nicaraguan Habano
These were the original vitolas released under the El Centurion brand:
Guerreros: 5 x 50
Gladiadores: 6 1/2 x 52
Emperadores: 5 1/2 x 52
There was also a lancero-size made available in a Don Pepin Garcia lancero sampler.
