At the 2013 IPCPR Trade Show, E.P. Carrillo was taking orders for a new line extension to its popular E.P. Carrillo New Wave Connecticut line called the Selectos de Oro. This new vitola was not on display, but it will be adding a lonsdale vitola to the line. The Selectos de Oro becomes the sixth frontmark of the New Wave Connecticut line – and the first extension in nearly two years.
The E.P. Carrillo Selectos de Oro should not be confused with the E.P. Carrillo Medalla D’ Oro. The Medalla D’Oro is retail exclusive for Federal Cigar in New Hampshire based on the E.P. Carrillo NWC Short Run 2012 blend. It is also a lonsdale, but the measurements of the Selectos de Oro are slightly smaller – 6 1/4 x 43 (compared to Medalla d’Oro 6 1/2 x 44).
The E.P. Carrillo New Wave Connecticut was introduced in the early part of 2011 and provided a milder offering to cigar enthusiasts. The cigar has been extremely successful for E.P. Carrillo. It ranked as our #30 Cigar for 2011.
The E.P. Carrillo New Wave Connecticut Selectos de Oro will have a price point at $6.00.
