At the 2013 IPCPR Trade Show, Davidoff was showcasing some packaging for will become their second installment in their limited edition series dedicated to the Chinese Zodiac – the Davidoff Year of the Horse 2014 Limited Edition.
The Year of the Horse release was not a surprise. Prior to the 2013 IPCPR Trade Show, Davidoff North America president Jim Young acknowledged on Kiss My Ash Radio that this cigar was coming.
We noted in our IPCPR preview that Year of the Horse would be a 6 x 60 – and that has been confirmed. Cigar Insider reports he price point to be $31.00 per cigar and the cigars will be packaged nine per box. This is believed to be Davidoff’s first 60 ring gauge offering. The actual cigars were not on display when we visited the Davidoff booth at IPCPR.
Late last year, Davidoff launched this first cigar in this series – the Davidoff 2013 Year of the Snake edition. That cigar was a Churchill and scored a 95 on Cigar Coop.
