1502 Nicaragua – Pre Release |
Global Premium Cigars will be introducing a fourth line into its 1502 portfolio in 2014. The 1502 Nicaragua will be the country’s first all-Nicaraguan puro cigar.
According to Leo Poveda of Global Premium Cigars, the blend will feature tobaccos from the four main growing regions of Nicaragua – Esteli, Jalapa, Condega, and Ometepe. Poveda told Cigar Coop that the cigar was tribute to company founder Enrique Sanchez Icasa’s newborn son. According to Enrique, “It’s the Puro that I created for my son, so that he never forgets his roots. 100% Nicaraguan”
Plans for the 1502 Nicaragua are for a launch in the 1st Quarter of 2014. Specific production frontmarks were not disclosed.
Global Premium Cigars is one of eight companies that is distributed by Emilio Cigars’ House of Emilio distribution arm. Back in September 2012, Global Premium Cigars entered into a distribution agreement with Emilio.
Global Premium Cigars currently has three core lines: 1502 Emerald, 1502 Ruby, 1502 Black Gold. Poveda told us line extensions in the form of lanceros and coronas are coming to those lines. Back in October we reported on the 1502 Black Gold Corona. These line extensions will be released in throughout 2014.
