Victor Vitale, owner of Legacy Brands was a special guest star on Episode 79 of the Stogie Geeks and announced a new vitola to the Tortuga 215 Reserva series. This will add a rounded 6 x 50 Cedro frontmark into the Tortuga 215 Reserva line.
The Tortuga 215 Reserva line was launched at the 2013 IPCPR Trade Show in Las Vegas and is a Nicaraguan puro. The original launch of the Tortuga was in four box-press sizes. This past November, Vitale announced he was adding three new “Cedro” vitolas. Vitale had originally told us the new Cedro sizes would differ from the original vitolas in three ways: First they will be rounded vitolas as opposed to box-press like the four original vitolas; Second, the Cedro vitolas will all come cedar wrapper; And third the cigars will be geared toward smaller ring gauges. Vitale had announced the first Cedro, the Cedro No. 5 (a 5 1/2 x 48) back in November. The new 6 x 50 Cedro now marks the second of the three line extensions.
Vitale also mentioned he has a new Tortuga Reserva in the works that he is targeting for the trade show, but only if it is ready.
