Villiger Cigars, North America will launch three new lines beginning in April, 2014.  These three lines will feature a move toward more contemporary packaging.   The lines will be called Trill, Cabarete Maduro, and Connecticut Kreme.  The announcement was made first in the 1/7/14 Cigar Insider, and then was communicated by Villiger North America Director of Marketing Fabian Barrantes.

The influence of these three lines can be tied to Barrantes.  This past October, Barrantes joined Villiger North America from Boutique Blends Cigars. Barrantes was involved in the creation of the several brands at Boutique Blends including the contemporary-styled Swag line.  It appears now Barrantes influence has carried over to these new lines.

In addition, there is a connection to Boutique Blends. The cigars will be made at Jochi Blanco’s Tabacalera La Palma factory.  This is the factory behind many of Boutique Blends’ cigars.

The three lines reported by Cigar Insider are as follows:

Trill by Viliger

This will be a mostly Dominican blend that features a Dominican Cuban-seed wrapper.  It will made available in four sizes (Robusto, Toro, Torpedo Gordo, and Gordo).  The price point is expected to be in the $6-$7 range.

Cabarete Maduro by Villiger

This will be a box-pressed maduro consisting of a Nicaraguan wrapper, Dominican binder, and a combination of Dominican and Nicaraguan filler.  It will also be made available in four sizes (Robusto, Toro Largo, Corona and Torpedo Largo).  The price point is being reported in the $7.00 to $8.95 range.

Villiger Connecticut Kreme

This is described as a new Connecticut line being made in four sizes.
