REINADO Cigars has made the announcement of its new Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper cigar.  The REINADO Grand Empire Reserve Ecuador will be released in a 6 x 38 petit lancero.  It not only marks the first Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade cigar by REINADO, but its first non Niccraguan puro.  The cigar will also make its debut at the 2014 IPCPR Trade Show in Las Vegas Nevada.

Back in October, 2013, REINADO Cigars President Antonio Lam was our special guest star on Episode 69 of Stogie Geeks and confirmed that an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper project was underway.  At that time, Lam mentioned the project would be an offshoot of the Grand Empire Reserve line.

Back in April, REINADO announced a distribution agreement with Alliance Cigar.  Alliance Cigar will also distribute the REINADO Grand Empire Reserve Ecuador Edition. “We are excited to carry REINADO’s new Petit Lancero and areconfident this premium cigar will be highly appreciated by a wide range of discerning smokers,” said Tom Sullivan, Founder of Alliance Cigar.

The original REINADO Grand Empire Reserve made its debut in 2012.  Since then, that line has grown to five vitolas.  It is a Nicaraguan puro featuring a maduro wrapper.

The company says additional vitolas beyond the 6 x 38 petit lancero will be released in the future. There is a corresponding 6 x 38 petit lancero in the maduro Grand Empire Reserve line.

Blend Profile

In terms of the REINADO Grand Empire Reserve Ecuador Edition, it will feature Nicaraguan binder and filler that has been blended and fermented using REINADO’s signature process. The Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper has been aging three years.
