Gurkha Cigars has chosen not to release any new lines at this year’s 2017 IPCPR Trade Show.  Instead, the company is reaching back into the past in re-introducing some of its more popular predicate lines into the market. Today Gurkha announced the return of The Master Select line.

The Master Select made its debut back in 2001. It was a cigar originally produced by Fidel Olivas. Gurkha was able to obtain the original blend recipe from Olivas, known as the  OVB (Original Vintage Blend).

A predicate blend is one that was marketed on February 15, 2007 or earlier. These cigars are grandfathered from being regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The Master Select consists of a Habano wrapper, a Honduran Habano binder, and a combination of Nicaraguan and Dominican filler. It is being released in five sizes: Robusto ($7.50 SRP), Toro ($8.50 SRP), 6 x 60 (SRP $10.00), Perfecto #1 (6 x 60, $11.50 SRP), and Perfecto #2 ($9.50 SRP). The cigars will be packaged in 25-count boxes.
