Late in 2015, Jochy Blanco, the acclaimed tobacco grower and owner of the Tabacalera Palma factory acquired Indianhead Cigars from Bill Bock and simultaneously launched his premium cigar brand La Galera Cigars. The 2016 IPCPR Trade Show would be the big launch for La Galera as Blanco would introduce five blends. This year didn’t see any new lines from La Galera, but a new 6 1/4 x 60 line extension to the La Galera Maduro line would be introduced known as Pilon.
The blend of the La Galera Maduro features Dominican Piloto Cubano and Criollo ’98 from Blanco’s farms loaded in Jacagua and Gurabo, wrapped in a San Andres wrapper. The La Galera Maduro Pilon is packaged in 20-count boxes.
