Fratello Cigars owner Omar de Frias might have left his job at NASA last year, but that doesn’t mean a little bit of NASA has remained close to his heart. At the 2017 IPCPR Trade Show, de Frias showcased his newest line, the Fratello Navetta, a line with a space shuttle theme that pays homage to de Frias’ days at NASA.
The Navetta adds an Ecuadorian Oscuro wrapper offering in the portfolio. The cigar is being manufactured at the Joya de Nicaragua factory. It is offered in four sizes, each named after a space shuttle: Robusto Discovery (5 x 50), Toro Endeavor: (6 1/4 x 54), Gordo Enterprise: (6 x 60), and the Boxer Atlantis: (6 1/4 x 52- BP Torpedo)
The banding is stunning on the Navetta – especially the elegant footer sleeve.
De Frias is one of the most personable brand owners in the business. It was evident how busy his booth was, but one thing I noticed is how he always took the time to speak to each visitor to his booth. I finally managed to wrangle De Frias the last day. De Frias is always gracious with his time with me, and this time was no exception.
