To say that covering Villiger Cigars North America is an enigma is an understatement.

Five years ago, there was no company doing better at delivering press information than Villiger, but since the COVID-19 pandemic has hit, the company has been virtually radio silent in terms of communicating its product releases. This has been disappointing because in this author’s opinion, Villiger had been riding a great trajectory prior to the pandemic.

Before the Big Four pulled out of the Trade Show in 2019, Villiger Cigars North America pulled out and they were quite public about their reasons. Now Villiger Cigars North America has come back, and the company really didn’t make any statement on what changed or why they were coming back.

Unfortunately, we did not get a chance to cover Villiger, and when I look back – it’s quite disappointing we didn’t do so. Their limited edition Villiger Miami 2022 was quite an intriguing product. Between the fact Villiger was coming back to the Trade Show and they had a sleek product, this was a missed opportunity for publicity by Villiger.

The Villiger Miami 2022 name pays homage to Villiger’s headquarters located in Miami, Florida and it was a private blend that was also given to guests. The cigar is produced at Villiger’s ABAM factory in the Dominican Republic and consists of an Ecuadorian wrapper over all Dominican fillers. It comes in two sizes: Laguito No. 1 (7 1/2 x 38), and Robusto (5 x 50). Pricing is set at $15.00 SRP/cigar for both sizes. Both sizes are packaged in ten-count boxes with a total production of 500 boxes per size. The cigars are highlighted by their bold, blue packaging.
