This summer, Warped Cigars focused more on its small batch releases. There were a trio of cigars announced.
Just before Memorial Day, Warped announced Eagles Descent. Eagles Descent was originally a release done for a R. Field Wine Co in Hawaii, a retailer that does many store exclusive releases. Produced at the Agricola Ganadera Norteña S.A. factory, was a Nicaraguan puro in a 5 5/8 x 52 Toro Especial size released in ten-count boxes. At the time of the Hawaiian release, Warped said there were plans for this blend to be released in a national release. This summer saw the long-awaited national release of Eagles Descent. The cigar is still a 5 5/8 Nicaraguan puro Toro Especial out of Agricola. Warped has said it reworked the blend for the national release. In addition, the national release of Eagles Descent comes in 25-count boxes and will be limited to 1,500 boxes. Pricing is set at $12.00.
Also coming out of the Agricola Ganadera Norteña S.A facility is an all-new brand known as Devil’s Hand. This one comes in a 6 x 44 Lonsdale. It’s a Nicaraguan puro that features more Estelí tobacco. The cigar is presented in 25-count boxes with pricing set at $11.00 per cigar.
Finally, the El Oso line is getting some attention this year. El Oso is one of the earlier lines from Warped that while it hasn’t been discontinued, has been somewhat dormant. It will be a 4 x 50 Petit Robusto and will feature an Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro wrapper over an Ecuadorian binder and a combination of Nicaraguan and Dominican filler. These will be packaged in ten-count bundles. There are only 160 bundles that will be distributed to to nine retailers.
