Artesano del Tobacco’s long-awaited second blend, El Pulpo is scheduled to begin hitting the stores in mid-February. El Pulpo, which means “The Octopus,” is a project of Artesano del Tobacco’s that has been in the works since 2016.
“We wanted a blend that fits people’s palate the way an octopus fits in different shapes, spaces and becomes that shape, we wanted a blend that becomes hard for any smoker to put down once they light up like an octopus that doesn’t let go of it’s prey, once again AJ Fernandez has done an amazing job creating EL Pulpo Cigars. We couldn’t be more satisfied with the finished product and cannot wait for everyone to try it. As they say, ‘good things come to those who wait’ and this statement continues to ring true with the EL Pulpo Cigars” Billy & Gus Fakih of Artesano Del Tobacco said in a press release.
Like their first release Viva La Vida, Artesano del Tobacco worked with AJ Fernandez to produce this cigar. For El Pulpo, owners Billy and Gus Fakih leveraged AJ Fernandez’s blending techniques, fermentation, and aging processes.
The blend features a Mexican San Andres wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler from the AJ Fernandez farms. The cigar comes in three box-pressed sizes, Robusto Grande (5 x 56, $15.00 SRP), Toro Grande (6 x 56, SRP $16.00), and Belicoso Grande (5 3/4 x 58)- each presented in ten-count boxes. Production comes from the Fernandez San Lotano factory in Ocotal, Nicaragua.
